About us:
ShopCraft is a Buffalo gallery and gift shop featuring 100% Buffalo artisans. We are located in the heart of the Elmwood Village in Buffalo, NY. Our artisans represent a wide array of handmade gifts and art.
ShopCraft is hiring a part-time Creative Associate that has the potential for full-time hours during the holiday season. This position requires availability on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, including evenings.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Display a warm, welcoming, attentive demeanor towards customers.
- Learn about each artist and their products, including how they are made/designed, and be able to relay that information to customers.
- Assist customers and recommend the best products for their needs.
- Complete payment transactions and maintain customer contact info and custom request tracking.
- Handle merchandising and display work throughout the store.
- Monitor and audit stock levels while restocking the store as needed.
- Receive and label new inventory.
- Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the store throughout the day and before opening/after closing.
- Monitor and fulfill online orders, including shipping.
Education & Experience:
- 2+ years of retail experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Square preferred or a basic understanding of POS systems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize customer needs.
Pay & Requirements:
- Pay will start at $15 per hour.
- Candidates must have availability on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, including evenings.
