What is your name?
What is the name of your business?
How did you end up in Buffalo?
I was born and raised in Buffalo – it’s the only city I ever want to call home!
How did you become a ShopCraft member?
I reached out to Christa after seeing how many amazing artists were involved in ShopCraft. I loved the idea of a place where artists worked so closely together to promote each other’s success.
In what way(s) is your work and/or lifestyle environmentally friendly?
I use recycled materials whenever I can. I love using items that were otherwise forgotten and making them something people are excited to put in their homes.
Describe your creative process in as much detail as possible:
I am always thinking of new ideas for my products. If an idea strikes, I have to write it down immediately so I keep a notebook with me wherever I go. I love playing with different designs and I love to put a spin on familiar sayings that make them just a little more humorous.
What does it mean to you to be a member of an artist collective like ShopCraft?
It feels really good to be part of something where everyone shares that entrepreneurial spirit. I love to see the ideas that other artists bring to the table and ShopCraft is such an awesome collection of creators. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by such talented, passionate people.
How do you order your wings?
I’m usually a medium girl but I’m always interested in trying a new flavor. I love Wing Kings on Hertel – they’re the best wings I’ve had in a long time!
What is the most meaningful thing a customer/client has said to you about your work?
It’s always so exciting when you feel like you’ve connected with someone through your business whom you otherwise would have never met. Finding people who share my humor is always fun for me and I love hearing that my products have made the perfect gift for someone special. Finding out that you share similar inside jokes with other people is really fun, too!
If you could share a piece of advice with people who think they are ‘not creative’, or don’t think their art is ‘good enough’, what would it be?
It’s absolutely untrue – everyone is creative! Everyone is their own harshest critic but if it’s something you enjoy – go for it. Make something. Don’t worry about whether it’s good enough. Find pleasure in the process!
What about Buffalo inspires you?
The people of Buffalo inspire me. The kindness, humor and shared appreciation of what our city has to offer just makes me want to be a part of it in any way I can.
What is your super power?
I have a pretty great memory. I can remember details that I think a lot of people tend to forget. Is that a super power?
